The Effects of Geographic Barriers on Speciation (UNM)

The simplicity and clean layout of the module is very nice. You already mentioned moving the table of contents page #s to the right. Here are a few more little details: pg. 2, 2nd sentence: "...common ancestors (,) but two populations..." pg. 5, #4: add 's' to say -- "...button at the top that say(s) Berkeley..." pg. 5, #4: "...new page and show(s) (a) map of this..." pg. 5, #9: "...collected and paste them into (to) {delete} Google..." pg. 11: "...habitat and level of (mobility) determines..." Pg. 11: "...but a whale (is) {delete} can swim..." pg. 12: "General mobility gives rise to increased migratory potential(,) and migration..." pg. 15: "The combination of the (the) {delete} height of the wall."
Ok, hope this helps. The layout is very nice and pleasing, and the images are great.
I really like this ebook. The look of the classic illustrations combined with the technologic feel of an ebook is a very cool concept. While reading though the module, I didn’t find anything that has not been covered in the earlier post. Great job.
The images of this module are great. They make it very pleasing to read. Page 11, "dessert" should be "desert." Also, don't forget what Joe said about adding trees to the Grand Canyon picture. On page 15, the sentence "And because they are small.." you might want to take out and just have "Because they are small..." Other than that, looks great! Good work!
First, these are fantastic illustrations, nice work. As you mentioned in class, you need to re-do the numbers on the table of contents. When talking about the two different sub-species of squirrels, be sure to refer to them in terms of divergence and not speciation, they are still the same species. I find the image of sympatric speciation confusing, shouldn't there be blue dots within the figure? Based on my understanding of your other figures of speciation (which are a nice way to illustrate it) I think you should have some blue dots in the middle of the sympatric speciation figure, to me they look like they are all still the same species. This is a great ebook, I think it is something that would work well across many different levels!
